The pared-down plans presented by Sunnyside’s David Cole, builder Peter Krevling, and Acting Institute Director Professor Jeff Dozier, show a building reduced in footprint from 11,100 to 4,000 square feet and the proposed use reduced by the elimination of the restaurant and the cooking school. In his June 28 letter to the Planning Commission, Mr. Cole said that he intends for the facilities’ focus to be “on educational functions surrounding value-added food processing” and he proposed replacing the restaurant with “a conference center to host private functions . . .”

He noted that the modification of the approach to the use of the site was based on feedback from the Planning
