Bom June 19. 1925 in Flint Hill, he was the son of the late Janies M. Settle Sr. (former Clerk of the Court for Rappahannock* and Julia Miller Settle.
Mr. Settle moved to St. Mary’s County 1U years ago from Virginia Beach. He was a retired senior claims adjuster for an insurance company.
Mr. Settle belonged to many organizations, the Northern Virginia Power Squadron, (past commander), Virginia State Police Alumni Association, member of Trinity Episcopal Church, (served as junior warden). member of Lodge Creek Yacht Club. Callio. Va.. Corinthian Yacht Club of Ridge, (served as trustee), was a Mason, Thomas J. Shyrock Lodge 223. Scottish Rite and a Shriner. Pa-Po Peake Shrine Club of Boami Temple, (serving on the board of directors).
Mr. Settle is survived by his wife, Dorothy Baroniak Settle of St. Man's City, whom he married Sept. 22. 1950 in Trinity Episcopal Church: a son, Thomas Slator Settle of St. Inigoes; three sisters. Mary S. Bowersett of Virginia Beach, Evelyn Tyler S. Peterson of Falcons Landing. Sterling and Carol S. Bowersett of Silver Spring, Md.
