Private interment was held at the Cubbage family cemetery.
Eliza Kennedy
Former resident
Eliza Goldie Kennedy, 90, formerly of Slate Mills, died Monday, July 15 at Blue Ridge Christian Home in Bealeton.
She was bom Feb. 5, 1912 in Madison County.
Mrs. Kennedy was an active member of Slate Mills Baptist Church and a member of the Women’s Missionary7 Union.
She is survived by three children, Bob Kennedy and his wife, Harriet of Lynchburg, Betty Coates and her husband, John of Culpeper and Charles Kennedy and his wife, Cynthia of Centreville and five grandchildren.
She is also survived by three sisters, Ruth and Florine, both of Culpeper and Frances of Brightwood.
In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Waver Wilson Kennedy; one daughter, Jean Minnis and a son, Douglas Wilson Kennedy.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, July 19 at Found and Sons Chapel with Pastor Virgil Wilson officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery.
Thomas Slaughter
Reva resident
Thomas “Tom Cat” Leroy Slaughter, 60, of Reva died on Thursday, July 18 at Culpeper Regional Hospital.
He was bom on Jan. 31, 1942 in Culpeper County to Martha Booten Slaughter. Mr. Slaughter was employed with Merchants Grocery for 16 years. He was a member of the Cannon Baptist Church in Reva.
He attended school in Culpeper County. After a union of marriage to Dollie M. Slaughter, four children were bom.
In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include three daughters, Gennifer Slaughter of Reva, Angelea Slaughter Wright of Culpeper and Darlene
