there are 5,700 buildable lots right now throughout the county ranging from 1/2 acre to over 100 acres. This figure does not represent the additional 5,600 new lots which could be created if existing owners chose to divide their properties according to existing zoning regulations and density requirements. The county could conceivably be looking at an additional 11,300 homes, or four times more houses than presently exist in Rappahannock.
