15-19, opportunities were provided in such areas as cooking, pet care, organic gardening, songwriting, photojournalism and wreath, basket and tile making. Courses took place in various locations around the county, but transportation was provided by school buses and the students gathered each day at RCES before and after class. Such a summer program requires the collaboration of many volunteers, and we are fortunate to have Theresa Light coordinating the classes once again. She has worked with county youth for several summers and is becoming quite the expert at whatever challenge Headwaters sends her way.

In addition to academics and fine and practical arts, students also have athletic opportunities at school over the summer.

Football camp was held at RCES earlier this summer, the weight room is available during scheduled hours and open gym for basketball (boys’ and girls’) started the week of July 22.
