The beautiful card says it all. You're invited to a wedding! It is so flattering to know that someone made a special effort to include you in his or her celebration. But as an invited guest, you now have certain obligations to fulfill.
While volumes have been written about wedding etiquette for the bride and groom, there are also common courtesies for the guests to follow.
First and foremost. RSVP immediately. RSVP is French for "please respond". Your most important obligation as a guest is to respond to the invitation immediately, especially if you are unable to attend.
At the very least, it allows your host and hostess enough time to give an accurate count to the caterer. There is usually a selfaddressed (and stamped) card to return with your reply.
Please use it.
Secondly, respect your invitation. Quite simply, the invitation will be addressed to the people invited.
