Don’t forget the annual Washington Baptist Church picnic will be held on Sunday, Aug. 17 at the Rappahannock Recreation Park. Games begin at 5 p.m. and supper at 6 p.m. Hamburgers and hot dogs and paper items are furnished by the church. Everyone is asked to bring a dish of food and drinks to share.
This coming week-end Saturday, Aug. 9 and Sunday, Aug. 10 the annual Dukefest will be held at Cooter’s place in Sperryville for the 25th anniversary of the show “The Dukes of Hazzard.” There will be an antique car show, live blue grass music, good food, stunt driving and several original members of the Duke Show.
Happy birthday to our cousin, Dorothy Carroll of Powhatan who will have her day on Wednesday, Aug. 13.
