Rollison, who had been chairman of the House Transportation Committee, is fully qualified and a leading expert on the state’s transportation problems. He was named to the new post by Gov. Mark Warner.
Though Rollison is a Republican and Warner a Democrat, there is nothing unusual about the appointment and it will not be an issue in any state legislative race this fall.
