The Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Department may yet get a third full-time deputy. Sheriff W. A- Buntin repeatedly has asked for another deputy, but the county supervisors consistently have declined to provide the necessary funding. Now the deputy’s salary may be financed through the Virginia Alcohol Safety Program instead of with money from local taxes and from the State Compensation Board.
