Headwaters, the Rappahannock County Public Education Foundation, recently awarded over $10,000 to teachers at Rappahannock County elementary and high schools for innovative classroom projects. These grants ranged in size from $175 to $1,500.
Teachers who applied for and received Headwaters grants at the elementary school are: Molly Bailey, 5th grade novels; Kathy Kohls, software for children with language disorders; Harriette Rosenblatt and Joy Rollins, materials for the holiday musical “American Reflections;” Candy Lamma and Layne Vickers, membership in “Character Counts! Coalition;” Patty Hottinger and Mrs. Gray, special education science field trips; John Glass, advanced reader novels; Mary Jane Cappello, “The Classroom Store” merit points project; Barbara Wheatley and Michele Herbert, “Take Home Reading Totes” for children with no one to read to them at home.
