RCHS, determined to finish off Strasburg, came out strong with eight consecutive points before Strasburg scored. The Panthers scored over five straight points on three occasions during the fourth game. RCHS kept Strasburg under 10 points to win the final game 25-9 and eventually take the match 3-1, winning the Bull Run District Tournament Championship for the second consecutive year.
Highlights of the night included a career high 23 kills from Ryisha Cook, 11 kills from Anna Kreyling, three kills from Mattie Nawrocki, and one from Lara Kreyling. Lara Kreyling was assisted in 31 of the 38 kills. Ryisha Cook had 10 aces for the night, Lara Kreyling had three, Danielle Hiserman had two, while Ashleigh Burke, Mattie Nawrocki, and Anna had one each for the night.
After the completion of the. championship game, there was a small awards ceremony. It began with recognizing the second team all-district players. Panther Ashleigh Burke was one of the six girls selected for the second team. Next was the recognition of the first team all-district players, with RCHS making up half of the squad as Ryisha Cook, Anna Kreyling and Lara Kreyling all earned first-team honors.
