Dean received his MFA from the University of Maryland in 1990. He works primarily in oil, painting almost exclusively with the palette knife. His work canvases old buildings to wine bottles.
“Painting is an addiction” says Dean, “I live to paint.” His passion for the work is clearly evident in his paintings.
