1 wa* remindedof a scene from the movie “Patton" in which Patton went to the site of an ancient battlefield and saw rt a* a place of reverence. Following the event* of Tuesday and upon hearing of the result*, I felt a kinship with Gen. Robert E. Lee I have felt a burden for my supporters but a deep conviction that the “way" we conduct ourselves is a* important as whether we win or lose—or whether we are 'right" or “wrong."

1 would like to make a final statement regarding the calendar We need to find a way to come together as a community in the aftermath of the election and do what is right for our young people. What I would hope is that the organizers of the calendar jsouid otter an appropriate apology that would soften the blow of an activity that many in our community consider inappropriate.
With apAogy in hand, I would encourage the School Board to accept the funds because of the message that such an apology would send to 'Air kids 1 can think of no better lesson for our children than for an apology to be tendered and accepted in the spurt of njconcibation This will tell them that people can settle their differences in a civilized and peaceable way. '
