‘Mountain of My Dreams ’
On Friday, Nov. 14 at 8 p.m., the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community (RAAC) welcomes local resident Richard Antony who will talk about his recently released book, “Mountain of My Dreams," as part of the Second Friday at the Library Series at the Rappahannock County library. Antony and his wife Sandra are the owners of' Long Mountain Nursery. The book tells the story of the couple's dreams and struggles to create an azalea nursery on a Rappahannock mountainside though they had no formal horticultural training and no real business experience.
RCCjA meeting & dinner
RCCA will hold its annual meeting on Saturday, Nov. 15 as well as a buffet dinner, honoring Rappahannock County conservation easement donors, at the Belle Meade Schoolhouse south of Sperryville. Members and the public are encouraged to attend. John Fox Sullivan, publisher of the National Journal and Atlantic Monthly, himself an easement donor, will speak on land preservation in the county. Election of directors is at 5 p.m., drinks at 6 p.m., and dinner at 6:30 p.m. The charge is $20 each for members and $30 for nonmembers.
