But the greatest problem with running on the road is the fact that there are no substantial hills for at least a mile. One of the best ways to train for cross-country is to practice on as many hills as possible, but at the present time, we have practically none.

Directly below our soccer field is a wooded slope and plain that extends for several hundred feet. Our science classes have begun to conduct a population diversity study in conjunction with the Smithsonian Conservation and Research Center on this plot of land.
