AN ONGOING PROCESS Grid should be viewed as a process rather than a crisis that is simply mastered or resolved over a prescribed period of time. With this in mind, grieving individuals should give themselves permission to teel the pain and loss that come with the death of a loved one. At the same tune, a person should be patient with the process and not pressure him or herself with expectations. Those facing a loss should learn to accept their pain and emotion, allowing themselves to cry. At the same time, they are encouraged to talk about their memories and experiences of the life and death of their loved one. It is a mistake to protect family and friends by not expressing sadness.
