Everyone is invited to “A Christmas in Little Washington" which will be celebrated Dec. 5, 6 and 7. There will be something for everyone to enjoy: live theatre, a colonial dinner, caroling, art shows, a Christmas bazaar, Sweet Shoppe, special Saturday movie matinee, a jazz guitar concert, special events in all of the shops and open houses in the B & Bs. Hikes in December

Ragged Mountain Resource Center Director Hunt Harris will conduct a moonlight hike of Old Rag Mountain on Saturday, Dec. 6 (rain date Sunday, Dec. 7) as well as a “Second Saturday" Hike Series day hike to White Oak Canyon and Cedar Run on Saturday, Dec. 13. Interested participants for the moonlight hike should meet at the Oldway Art Center between 4-5 p.m. (where there will be an open house from 1-8 p.m. the 6th and 7th) or at the upper parking lot for Old Rag on the Nethers side by 6 p.m. Layerable clothing, a snack, water and a back-up headlamp are recommended. Not for wimps. Christmas Bazaar

Hearthstone School will hold its annual Christmas Bazaar fundraiser on Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church in Little Washington. For sale will be many high-quality gifts for all ages. Local artists and craftspeople will offer their wares. A hand-decorated gingerbread house will be raffled. Arney and Mary O'Meara of Moose Hill Farm will have fresh-cut Christmas trees available again this year at Hearthstone School from Thanksgiving Sunday through Dec. 24 (or until trees run out). Several vendor spots are still available; call 987-9212.

Democratic Caucus

The biennial Reorganization of the local Democratic Committee will take place at the Washington Town Hall on Saturday, Dec. 6. Doors will open for breakfast at 8 a.m., with the Reorganization Caucus starting at 9:30 a.m. All Rappahannock County Democrats are encouraged to participate.There is no charge.
