Geraldine Payne’s second grade class at Rappahannock County Elementary School recognized Rett Syndrome month in October.
Rett Syndrome is a neurological disorder seen, almost exclusively in females.' Mrs. Payne has an eight-year old-student, Lauren, daughter of Wanda Payne-Jeffries, who has Rett Syndrome.

Travis Byrne is the Rappahannock County Public School Volunteer of the Month for November.
A 2003 graduate of Randolph Macon College, Travis began volunteering at Rappahannock County High School to gain work experience. Earning a history degree with a minor in English prepared Travis for a full seven-hour workload twice a week.
