Last year, Sherertz said he attended a meeting with the State Police, Shenandoah Park authorities, the Virginia Department of Transportation and the Page County Sheriff’s Office on how to deal with motorcycle speeding.
Proposals ranged from building speed bumps before dangerous curves on the 211 West approaches to the park to hiding radar teams in the woods and calling ahead to police cars to pull over and ticket the speeders.
Sherertz said that he hoped some of the plans would go forward this year, but budget restraints and manpower shortages are significant.
