As of March 17, some 62 farms in Rappahannock County had been signed up for participation in the 1964 feed grain program, H.S. Barkdale, Chairman, Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation County Committee has announced. Under the program, a grower who reduces his feed grain acreage (of com, grain sorghum, and barley) by at least 20 percent of his farm’s total acreage would earn diversion payment for shifting the acreage from production to to conserving use. A Training Union Conference for Young People was held over the weekend at Eagle Eyrie, a Baptist Conference Camp near Lynchburg. From this area attending were Miss Segar Jones, Miss Ann Jenkins and David Palmer Washington and Roger Welch and Miss Charlotte Moore of Flint Hill. Accompanying the local young people was the Rev. Arnold Sorrells, minister of the Flint Hill and Washington Baptist Churches.
