Members of the Water and Sewer Authority learned that the Sperryville sewer plant could easily get into trouble again with the State Water Board. Plant operator Donna Chabot came to the meeting last Thursday evening to say that since March 2 when snow started melting, the plant has been running over its capacity of 55,000 gallons. She said it was due to the inflow and infiltration of ground water, and that when that happens as it had for seven consecutive days, it is impossible to keep solids from being washed out of the plant. A workshop on hooked rugs was held on Wednesday, March 4 at Amissville Fire Hall and was attended by 24 county women. Miss Harriet Goode, Rappahannock Home Agent made all the arrangements and then enlisted Miss Catherine Peery VPI Rural Crafts specialist to give the demonstrations.
