Youth Conservation Camp, available to high school students in grades 9-12, has been sponsored by the Virginia Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts for more than 25 years.
Participants in the camp spend a week canoeing, swimming, exploring caves, playing volleyball, and learning about natural resources and conservation issues with other high school students from Virginia. Taking place on and around the Virginia Tech campus, the experience is paid for by a scholarship, from the Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation District.
Youth Conservation Camp will be held July 13-19. Camp participants are selected based on their interest, teacher recommendations and/or essay applications and come from both rural and urban backgrounds. The deadline for applications is May 10.
For application forms, or more information about either camp, contact the Culpeper SWCD at (540) 8258591.
