Judges for the vocalists were Judy Reidinger and Barbara McIntyre and for the instrumentalists, Emma Sue Amos and Don Kent. Master of ceremonies, Lion Norman Getsinger, introduced each contestant and engaged them in conversation and put them at ease before starting their performance. A highlight during the intermission was a surprise performance of the high school jazz ensemble. Refreshments were provided while final tallies were taken of the judges’ evaluations in preparation for the awards’ ceremony.
