Duane Matthews Padgett, 27, of 310 Madison Street, Culpeper, was arrested by Virginia State Police Trooper Don Corbin on Main Street, Little Washington, near Harris Hollow Road, at 9:47 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, on charges of public drunkenness and possession of marijuana.

The Culpeper-Madison Red Cross still has room for students in the summer water safety program.
Openings are in Session 2 (July 6 - July 15), Session 3 (July 20 - July 29), and Session 4 (Aug. 3 - Aug. 12). It is important that parents enroll children now to assure getting into the program.
Lessons are given Tuesdays,Wednesdays and Thursdays for two weeks. Each lesson is 30 minutes long.
Tuition per session (six lessons) is $35. Tuition for adult classes is also $35. There is a 15 percent senior discount.
A child must be at least five years of age to take swrim lessons. For children younger than five, consider signing up for a “Mom & Tot” class. Babies and toddlers can benefit greatly from this experience. Someone at least 14 years of age must be in the pool with a child.
Tuition for the “Mom & Tot” class (six lessons) is $35. Lessons are given at privately owned pools in the Culpeper area.
