Illegal aliens
Law enforcement officers will now be able to detain certain illegal aliens for up to 72 hours or until they are taken into federal custody so long as the person in question has been confirmed to be in the country illegally, has been previously convicted of a felony and previously deported because of that conviction.
Marriage
The Affirmation of Marriage Act for the Commonwealth of Virginia states that a civil union, partnership contract or other arrangement between persons of the same sex purporting to bestow the privileges or obligations of marriage is prohibited and that any such arrangement entered into in another state or jurisdiction will be considered void in Virginia.
