“Come celebrate our country’s 218th birthday all day in the Tbwn of Washington with a great variety of activities and with a fantastic display of aerial fireworks in the evening,” William Carrigan said. Jennifer Jo McNear graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. on May 28 with a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental engineering. She is a second generation McNear graduate of the Military Academy. Scott Updike and Nancie Gallegos placed second highest individuals in the state 4-H Livestock Judging Contest and 4-H Dairy Bowl Contest respectively during statewide contests held during 4-H Congress June 20-25 at Virginia Tech at Blacksburg.
