Smith entered the courthouse carrying his bible and took a seat beside his attorney, Franklin B. Reynolds.
The charges were read by a court clerk. Judge Parker then asked Smith if he understood the charges aiid Smith acknowledged he did. The judge asked Smith how did he plead and Smith replied, ”Guilty.”
