that happened in Florida. Call them mighty coincidences or harmonic convergences, but there were other cosmic road signs affirming that it was right for Johnny Jenkins to make the journey to Island Dolphin Care, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping children with special needs.

It wasn’t an easy trip. Due to the challenges in transporting the multiple-handicapped child, the family drove to Florida. The Jenkins’ nineyear-old son Hunter and John’s brother Bobby Jenkins and his wife Gloria came along to help.

“Gloria was there when Johnny was bom, and she’s never left us. She’s our angel,” said Michelle of her sister-inlaw, who’s a nursing assistant at Blue Ridge Orthopedic Clinic in Warrenton. No obstacle too big

They surmounted bad weather and mechanical problems, managing to stick to their schedule and arrive a day early. Excited, full of enthusiasm and anticipation and wanting to be sure there were no last minute mis-directions, they decided to drive over to Island Dolphin Care
