to the appalling negativity and half truths expressed in a letter in last week’s Rappahannock News about John Kerry:
Military service
Mr. Kerry served honorably and with distinction in the Vietnam War. This has been attested to time and again by eye-witness accounts and no serious, unbiased journalist has concluded otherwise. Tb continue to raise this issue at this point willfully disregards the evidence.
Criticism of
Vietnam War
Mr. Kerry reported that he had heard of acts of brutality and crimes and indeed there were, just as we have learned about brutality and crimes in connection with the treatment of prisoners at Abu Ghraib. Was the soldier who first had the courage to report the Abu Ghraib story a disgrace? If you want disgrace, how about the act of passing out Band-Aids with purple hearts on them at the Republican convention? Service in the Senate
