Clevenger’s Corner

Centex Homes will host a presentation of a plan that has been filed with Culpeper County for the rezoning of South Wales to create Clevenger's Village on Sept. 9 at the Amissville firehall at 7 p.m. This session will not be moderated. and is largely for South Wales' homeowners. The public is invited. Centex Homes also has agreed to join Concerned Culpeper Citizens at a public forum on Clevenger's Corner on Sept -15 from 7-9 p.m. at the Depot in Culpeper. Both forums are open to Rappahannock residents.

Llamas in Rappahannock

Clyde Humphrey, local llama breeder at West Wind Farm, will present "Llamas in Rappahannock," Sept. 10 at the Rappahannock Library at 8 p.m. Admission is free. The event, a slide show, lecture, and panel discussion, is part of the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community's second Friday at the library series.

Old Hollow reunion

The annua! Old Hollow reunion will be held Sunday, Sept. 12 at Thornton’s Gap Regular Baptist Church. Please bring a covered dish. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. For more information call Ruby Dwyer. 987-8336.

Ballet at Belle Meade

Ballet classes will be offered at Belle Meade Schoolhouse beginning Sept. 13. The classes—Creative Movement (ages 3 and 4), Pre-ballet (ages 5 and 6). Ballet I (ages 7 to 9), Ballet II (ages 10-15) and Adult Ballet (ages 16-99)— will be taught by Meghan Cupp, a former professional ballet dancer. For more information, call Cupp at 987-8081.

Training session

The Rappahannock Free Clinic, a local branch of the Fauquier Free Clinic, will hold a training session Sept. 14 at 5:30 p.m. at Trinity Church, 379 Gay Street. Screeners, greeters, loggers, chart reviewers and any person interested in administrative volunteering for the free clinic are welcome. For more information or to R.S.V. P. call Toni, 540-347-0394. Services board meeting

The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board and Area Agency on Aging will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 14 at 1 p.m., at 15361 Bradford Road in Culpeper. Rappahannock Free Clinic

The Rappahannock Free Clinic will be open Wednesday, Sept. 15 at the Rappahannock Health Department in Washington. Patient registration is 5:30-6:30 p.m. There is a shortage of nurses to assist at the clinic. Those willing to help (it is not necessary to be an RN) are urged to call the clinic at 675-2525 or 347-0394.

Cantor’s rep to visit

Congressman Eric Cantor’s Community Outreach Director, Barbara Taylor, will be available at the Rappahannock County Library to meet with constituents to discuss issues and answer questions on Thursday, Sept. 16 from 10 -11 a.m.

Rough ride

A bike ride to benefit patients of the Rappahannock and Fauquier free clinics will be held Sept. 18. Registration is $20 per person; $15 for children under 12. The event offers 12, 35, or 60 mile paved tours, and 20 or 30 mile paved and unpaved courses. For more information, call 540-428-3610 or e-mail ride@fauquierfreeclinic.org. Rabies vaccination clinic

Vaccinations will be available for cats and dogs from any county on Sept. 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rappahannock Animal Shelter, Route 639 off of Route 211 in Amissville by the landfill.
