The RCHS football team had another long road trip last Saturday, this time to face the Group AA Division 3 Bassett High Bengals at Ed Bassett Stadium in Bassett, Va., near the North Carolina border.
But the second game of Rappahannock County’s historic first season at the varsity level is one the Panthers would do well to put behind them, as the Bengals outscored them, 54-0.
“I don’t know any coach that likes to lose, especially me,” head coach Kemp Pullin said. “But I told our guys to just forget this game. I’m not disappointed. They gave it everything they had, we didn’t blow anything. We could have played a perfect game against this team and still not have beat them.”
