Big fish in
the pond
Four-year-old Jimmy Bailey, of Gid Brown Hollow, caught these two enormous large mouth bass in a pond near Washington this month. His father Dan Bailey recalled the eventful day. “He was using spinner bait, with an artificial lure, and I was fishing a plastic worm... he yelled, Daddy, I’ve got one’. He reeled it two or three feet. I was afraid we’d break the line so we walked it backward up the bank. Half an hour later he got another one on a plastic worm.” The biggest bass was 19 1/2 inches, weighing in‘at three pounds, 12 ounces. The other one is nearly as big, at 18 1/2 inches, and three pounds, four ounces. When asked what father and son did with those basses, the answer was easy. “We ate them.”
