They also attended synagogue school and learned about the PassOver Seder as they tasted the foods in an authentic representation.
Students learned about the Hebrew language and practiced writing words in Hebrew like Shalom and Jesus (Joshua). The Jewish Tbrah was explained as the first five books of the Old Testament and stucL. memorized verses from these “Books of the Law”. Through visual and other senses the students experienced the sound, flavors and sights of the biblical tunes of Jesus of Nazareth. The classes emphasized the common heritage of the Jewish and Christian religions.
Each day Rev. Phillip Bailey led the recreation session where the children played various Bible games.
Rev. Bailey and Rev. Hobson were very thankful to Janet Jenkins who served as the director for this year's Vacation Bible School and to everyone who helped make it so successful.
As one observer noted, “it was so refreshing to see the children exploring the Bible and understanding God's message in such a fun way.”
