Mrs. Atkins resided in Culpeper for ten years.
She is survived by her husband of three years, Choudhry Nabi Ahmed, five sons, Lewis James Atkins Jr. and his wife Dollie of Sperryville; Wayne Atkins and his wife Pamela Atkins of Sperryville, Steve Atkins and his wife Betty Atkins of Culpeper, Mike Atkins and his life partner Georgia Settle of Culpeper and Charles Atkins of Front Royal.
Additional survivors include three brothers, Frank Foster of Castleton, Herbert Foster of Washington, and Silas Foster of Winchester and three grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis James Atkins Sr. and her daughter, Betty Atkins.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, August 25 at Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church in Sperryville, with Rev. John K Burke officiating. Interment was followed in Washington Masonic Cemetery.
