“We take kids Christmas shopping in police cars, and we try to make it 70 percent necessities and 30 percent toys,” explained Brown. After their shopping trip, the kids are taken to the Little Washington FirehaU and fed a Christmas dinner, while volunteers, whom Brown calls his “mad wrappers,” wrap the presents the kids picked out. After dinner, the families are given their presents along with a food basket.
