Bessie Norman of Woodville, sisters Hazel Veltoven of Culpeper and niece, Sharon Dwyer of Bealeton have returned home after vacationing in Chicago with their brother, and sisterlaw, A. B. and Joan Hawkins.
On Thursday, they were joined by A. B. and Joan's immediate family, Sandy, Mike, Julie and daughter, Nichole and Ray, Joan's brother. On Friday other family members were Frances and Jeff Huntly from Port Washington, Wis.
What a surprise they had on their sightseeing tour on Friday. They rode for three hours in a white limousine, with a black top, and the chauffeur told them about the many sights of downtown Chicago. They took in Grant Park, Lincoln Park, Soldier Field, Wrigley Field, Navy Pier, The Loop, and of course Sears Tower, being the tallest building in the world, and many other places.
Mrs. Hawkins prepared * delicious meals and on Saturday she and her husband were hosts at the Bohemian Crystal Restaurant for dinner and it was wonderful!
The flights on United Airlines were “breath taking” especially if you had a window! We were delayed on Sunday for one and half hour on return from Midway due to heavy overcast, but they landed at Dulles with no problems after being in the air for one hour and thirty six minutes. The three of them had lots of happy • memories and thank God for making it happen, and a safe trip back home.
