Town Administrator Laura Dodd related that all remaining property owners had stated the intent to participate. These remaining four would bring 100 percent of the town participating in the sewer system.
Earlier in the meeting, the council voted on some of the appeals of sewer assessments, voting down Dr. Jerry Martin’s request as well as Skippy and Pat Giles’ in both cases citing “separate uses” of buildings or parts of buildings. Trinity Episcopal church had its assessment reduced based on past usage as did council member Gary Schwartz’s Piedmont Partners which owns the Heritage House.
John MacPherson - whose in-laws are in the midst of purchasing a property whose owners have already filed the easement - was approved to pay the assessment over time like every other existing user as opposed to all at once for all “new” users.
