study halls, guaranteed scholarship money (with the promise for more, depending on how much playing time he has) and a pre-physical therapy/ athletic training major helped UVA-Wise lure Hogan.

“This was a hard decision, but I had a gut feeling that UVA-Wise was the right choice," he added. “1 felt a little nervous when 1 had to call Clarion and tell them my decision, but 1 knew that I had to call."

Now that Rappahannock County’s soccer season ended ( Hogan started four years as a sweeper), the workouts for college football begin. The UVAWise coaching staff already has put together a schedule for Hogan. It includes running, lifting weights and speed drills.

“There’s a lot of variety in the work, said Hogan, who will report for training camp Aug. 5. UVA-Wise plays its season opener Aug. 29 at Seton Hill (PA). “There's enough stuff to do that I could stay a day in the weight room with all the things they gave me. I’ll punt and kick all summer to get ready for the season.”
