Local Scholarships, a Portraits of Success project, ancf three sets of promotional materials for fundraising;
• Taken over 400 students to 40 campuses around Virginia and the nation;
• Offered countless workshops to students and families, grades 4 -12, on every aspect of the process;
• Managed two “College Guides” from the University of Virginia;
• Offered hundreds of hours of free SAT tutoring to students who would not otherwise be able to afford or access the help;
• Brought the SAT Test to Rappahannock and offered it to over 385 students;
• Raised over $350,000 in scholarship money;
• Contacted 100 percent of the graduating seniors for the last four years, thereby collecting reliable data that confirms that the college-going rate at RCHS jumped from 55 percent in 2005 to 72 percent, 76 percent, and 73 percent in each consecutive year.
This year, the Class of 2009 has received acceptance letters from 50 colleges and universities in 17 states.
