new trustee of the Rappahannock County Library to fill the expired term of Grace Sims who in turn became the County Librarian in April.
Washington soon will have two more bed and breakfast guest homes. The Town Council approved on May 9 a request from Pat Foster and Camille Harris-Foster to open a bed and breakfast on Main Street. In addition, council granted Peter Kramer permission to operate a bed and breakfast on Gay Street extended. Both requests have been delayed for more than a month while council made its final decisions.
Miss Penny Lynn Chadwell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Chadwell of Huntly will participate in the Department of Nursing graduating class at George Mason University on May 19. There will be a pinning ceremony for the nursing class on Friday evening, May 18.

The second annual “Trash Free Rappahannock" clean -up campaign has concluded and the winners by a huge margin over all trash-for-cash participants is the Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad with a total of 473 bags and miscellaneous roadside garbage! This group had many helpers and set the trend for group participation, but was spearheaded by Buck Payne, who also served on this year’s Organizing Committee.
