Sperryville drew many creative people in the heyday of the hippie culture in the 60s and 70s. Several of them are now mainstays of our creative community and include Jeanne Drevas, Eric Kvarnes, Nina Moore, Patty Mullan, and Janet Kerig.
Among the newer members of the Sperryville art community are Suzanne Zylonis, Susan Dienelt, Anne Georgia McCraffray, Sara Schneidman, Hans Gerhardt, Martin Woodard, Ray Hoc and Steve Wagner. We are delighted to have Christian Platt join this eclectic group 'of Sperryville artists who work in a variety of media.

for a Day Trip
Bob Tagart, publisher of the “Old Town Crier,” featured Sperryville this month as a day trip from the Alexandria area. This full page featun had lovely photos of Sperryville’s Main Street businesses. Wasmund’s and the Copper Fox. This man had done historical research and reminded readers that in 1911 “...the town boasted four churches, live general stores, one hotel, six mills, numerous shops and a population of 350.” This was an excellent article that has the potential .to bring day trippers to Sperryville rather than traveling farther from home.
