Just ask Rappahannock County High School senior punter/placekicker Dean Hogan.
“Schools don’t like punters and kickers much, I guess,” he said with a laugh, “so you have to just sit and wait. There was one point that I was a little worried, but you let the chips fall into place.”
In this case, Hogan will cash in those chips this fall on a partial scholarship at the University of VirginiaWise, an NAIA school in Wise County, Va., with a rich football tradition. The Cavs finished 19th in the postseason football coaches poll with an 8-3 record in the Mid-South Conference.
