Garden Club Discussion
The Rappahannock Garden club met Wednesday afternoon at the home of Col. and Mrs. William R. Williamson at Woodville. j S. E. Hening, a member of the club, gave an interesting and instructive talk on the architecture of various types of fences. He showed some miniature fence sections, lamp posts, and gates which he had built to illustrate his discussion concerning the relationship between fences, lawns, and the home. / Mr. Hening and other members of the club who are interested in fencing discussed the objective of making fence improvement one phase of garden pluh project work for the future.
Mrs. Charles Estes received the highest score on an arrangement in an unusual container. Mrs. E. M. Jones received second rating and Mrs. Lucio Kilby, third. In the miscellaneous class, consisting of specimens pf peonies and roses, Mrs. Charles Estes again placed first, with Mrs. J. G. Revercomb’s arrangements rating second and third.
