Liberty Bell Replica
Will Visit Washington
Sponsored by the American Legion, a replica of the Liberty Bell will be in Washington Monday, June 12, on exhibition in front of the Courthouse. Plans for a program appropriate to the occasion are incomplete but will be announced in time for everyone in Rappahannock county to make plans to see the Liberty Bell.
The 48 replicas of the Liberty Bell will be presented to the states on July 4, at the end of the drive to stimulate interest in the purchase of savings bonds.
The Liberty Bell -which will be seen at Washington is exactly like the original Liberty Bell, even to its tone.
Westinghouse Cooking
School Scheduled
Mrs. Elizabeth Messersmith, home economist of the Westinghouse Consumer Products, will conduct a cooking school demonstration Tuesday and Wednesday, June 6 and 7, at 10 o’clock in the morning at Wood Brothers Packing House in Flint Hill. Mrs. Messersmith is the former Miss Elizabeth Radcliffe, of Flint Hill and Frederick, Md.
Door prises will be awarded each day and everyone is invited.
Mrs. Messersmith will demonstrate latest methods in using the modern cooking equipment on exhibition by Westinghouse.
