Experiment Station Tour
At Orange June 5
A tour of the Orange Experiment Station has 'been suggested for Monday, June 5th to leave the Courthouse at Washingota at 8:30 a.m.
A few of the things to be seen and learndd at this station are:
1. When using 1400 lbs. of fertiliser during a common crop rotation is it better to make a split or a single application? (Results are surprising!)
3. Comparison between Ladino Orchard Grass and Ladino By. 31 Fescue ait different seeding rates.
3. The better varieties of Orchard Grass for this section. (Every Rappahannock farmer should see this)
4. Small Grain Varietal tests (oats, barley and>wheat).
5. Alfalfa stand maintenance through fertilization with different quantities of phosphsite and potash. (Makes present practices look haywire,)
8. Experiments on thickness of and planting dates on corn as affecting yield. - In order to afford those attending , the tour the best possible chance to “see all—hear all” while actually touring the station, it is Important to know how many will t attend.
