Annual NFA Banquet At
Carver High School
On May 20 the members of the O. R. Johnson NFA chapter and the Veterans enrolled in agricultural training at Carver Regional High School held their second annual banquet in honor of their parents and wives.
C. B. Jeter, area supervisor of agricultural education, made_a very ifimely and interesting speech on “Father and Son Relationships.” Afterwards George Lindsay, an alumnus of the O. R. Johnson NFA chapter, was awarded the Modern Farmer Degree pin by Mr. Jeter. Mr. Paul Hounshell, division superintendent of fchools in Culpeper, was elected into honorary membership of the chapter and received the honorary Improved Farmer Degree.
The group was honored by the presence of Mr. C. M. J. Kyle, superintendent of Orange county schools, Mr. E. B. Clore, member of the regional control school board, Mr. R. A, Bracey, Mr. K. H. Diggs, Mr O. Epps, Mr. W. Craighead, itinerary instructors of agricultural education, and many secondary and elementary teachers of the region.
The menu of the evening was served by the girls of the home economics department, and consisted of tomato juice, turkey steaks, gravy, mashed potatoes, Spanish string beans, pineapple salad, hot rolls and butter, molded ice cream, cake, and . iced tea.
