County News Notes

Carrol Settle and Roszell Bower~ sett of the University of Md.* spent the week end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Settle in Flint Hill.

Miss Mary Massie Lea returned home Monday from Stuart Hall, Staunton. She was accompanied home by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Lea and son Carlyle.

Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Carpenter and family of Novum, and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Yowell of Mitchell were the Sunday guests of Mr. and Mi%. 0. G. Mitchell and A. W. Yowell.

Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Conner and family and Mrs. Ralph Conner of Washington, D. C., were dinner guests Sunday of J. E. Orange and family.

Mrs. Lily Barber, Mrs. C. B. Johnson, Misses Lillie nad Nellie Johnson, and Mrs. W. H. Sill attended a bridal shower at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cary Thornhill, in honor of Mrs. Buddy Thornhill Friday. Mrs. Thornhill was before her marriage Miss Jane Butler.
