The exasperated parent can relish the remark of one mother: “Go find Edgar, see what he’s doing, and tell him to stop.”

It’s a shame that the teachers can’t be persuaded to collect the stories that they gather during their years of work with the children of the community. One teacher is quoted as saying: “Let me teach your child, and I will tell you more about yourself than you’d dream I know.” Even the personal habits of the family are public knowledge to the teacher. Another teacher’s story concerns the doctor’s boy. During the daily Bible; reading the boy asked (about thef‘faith, hope, and charity’” passage), “What does charity mean?”
“It means love,” was the teacher’s answer.
“Well!” exclaimed the boy, “I didn’t know that! My father has charity patients and he don’t love ’em; he just hates ’em.”
