Rally Day At Methodist
Orphanage June 11
Two thousand Methodists from all sections of the Virginia Con* fWence will attend tfyk annual Rally Day and homecoming of the Orphanage in Richmond Sunday, June 11.
Delegations from the 14 districts presided over by Bishop William Walter Peele will be conducted on tours of the buildings and grounds of the 84-acre home on West Broad street upon arrival during the morning. Following a picnic lunch, exercises beginning * at 1:30 p.m. will include greetings from Governor John S. Batte and Mayor W. Stirling King of Richmond, and .addresses by Alvin W. Brittingham, Hampton,''President of the Conference Association of Men's Bible Classes, sponsoring the event, and Mrs. J. Walter Ernest, president of the Woman's Auxiliary. Mrs. Merle Funk will speak for he 8,500 who have been eared for bythe Home during its half century of operation, many of the “old boys and girls" returning for their annual reunion. "Rev. E. Leon Smith, superintendent of the Home, will present a number of the children in a musical program during the afternoon.
