Game Club Announces

Largest Deer Contest

W. H, Lyne, President of the Rappahannock Fish and Game Club announced to-day that this organization will give a $15.00 trophy to the member killing the largest deer, buck or doe, during the 1964-65 hunting season. This decision was made at the group’s meeting held Friday October 2nd at the Court House at which time the following rules were decided upon; (1) All contestants must be members of the Rappahannock Fish and Game Club (dues $1.00 a year) and pay an entry fee of $1.00; (2) Final date for entering 'the contest, Saturday, November 14, (3) All deer to be considered must be weighed at one of the following check stations; Rector’s Store at Flint Hill, Burke’s Store at Woodville, Green’s Store at Slate Mills. (4) Deer weight, name and address of the lucky hunter will be recorded at the time it is tagged. The trophy will be awarded at the close of the season. Edward Clark of Washington -was named Chairman of the contest committee. Mr. Clark said entries have already started, Herbert and Charles Foster of Flint Hill being the first. Contestants may pay their entry fee to Mr. Clark, Morgan Johnston of Washington or Paul Miller of Flint Hill. I
